Diggers Rest

Diggers Rest was our first homestead  on the journey - and a very rememberable one. It is also the Location where the movie "Australia" was shot, which we obviously looked at before we left home. Diggers Rest is still a working cattle stations, but also home to a lot of horses, goats and other funny animal. During the rainy season the whole station  isn´t accessible and we learned that this is the quiet time of the year, and that they always hope that all horses and cattles are save somewhere, somehow.

We were warned not to leave our car door open, as some of the hens are eager for a car ride ... or do they want to escape? It´s an impressive land, a lot find out and look, including a prison boab tree. For more stories read on in our

blog.
